Gambling Cultural Proverbs
Gambling is all about chance. There is very little that can be said about strategies when playing a game that could switch for or against luck. This could be why gamblers have beautiful women blow on dice for them, close their eyes on a roll, or cross their fingers for a good card to pop up. Some cultures, ethnicities, or religions well not all believe in gambling, but do believe in luck. Each has something to say about it, and poke fun of. If gambling is a game of luck, here is what some cultures have to say about it.
"A Smith & Wesson beats four aces."
-American Proverb
"Throw a lucky man in the sea, and he will come up with a fish in his mouth."
- Arab Proverb
"No gulls, no luck."
-French Proverb
"Luck sometimes visits a fool, but it never sits down with him."
-German Proverb
"When God throws the dice are loaded."
- Greek Proverb
"Every dog has his day in luck."
- Japanese Proverb
"Go and wake up your luck."
- Persian Proverb
-
"Better an ounce of luck than a pound of gold."
- Yiddish Proverb
"Nine gamblers could not feed a single rooster."
-Yugoslav proverb
